A recent media release by WorkSafe is a timely reminder about areas of a worksite that can be easily forgotten.
It should now be standard practice to consider the hazards for your staff and all pedestrians on a new or existing worksite. Daily and weekly tool box meetings and safety briefings highlight the considerations and hazards an employer must consider when working on site, but it can be easily overlooked to consider the hazards for those unexpected visitors to site or the surrounding areas.
Sadly in a recent article published by WorkSafe, an elderly man in a mobility scooter tipped on uneven ground that had been damaged by the development work in the immediate vicinity.
The company conducting the work was fined and WorkSafe issued a warning to other companies to make plans on how to manage all elements of a worksite, considering the health and safety of all additional workers, visitors, passers-by, customers & volunteers.
Vanguard has many customers requesting advice and solutions on how to manage high pedestrian areas and we know we have the solution to meet the need.
Give us a call to discuss your worksite challenge on 0800 500 147.
