Public Roads - Interview

Description

Phillip Mitchell who works for a well-known roading company gave us some great insights following a recent project using our Flexible Traffic Separator.

Tell us about the job

“Our client, Porirua City Council, needed to see how traffic would flow around a newly constructed roundabout at Kenepuru/Raiha intersection. This trial is for 6 – 12months, which will show where the carriageway will need to be modified before installing permanent kerb and channel.

The reason that PCC chose the temporary Rubber Traffic Separator system was to see how traffic would flow on the newly constructed roundabout before going permanent.”

What challenge did your project need to overcome in relation to traffic management?

“Works needed to be completed at night so there was no interference during peak traffic from 6am – 6pm."

Where did the job take place?

“The job took place In Porirua at the busy Raiha St intersection which has a lot of traffic movement daily.”

Why did you choose Vanguard to overcome your challenge?

“Vanguard was chosen because they offer great customer service, advice and high-quality products.”

What did Vanguard offer that their competitors didn’t?

“Pricing was on par with other companies but Vanguard have better service and a large range of products on hand when needed.”

What results have you seen since implementing the Traffic Separator system?

“Since installation, there has been great feedback from the community and Porirua City Council, and traffic is now flowing smoother in all directions.”
