Challenge:

This contractor had a project where they had to dig trenches on a busy CBD footpath and keep them open for access over a 2 week period plus minimise disruption to pedestrians at the same time. Normally barricades or steel plates would have been used to secure the hole. However, this was going to impede pedestrian movement and safety quite considerably.

Solution:
