Vanguard 5-Step Safety Design Process.

Are you unsure as to whether you’ve done enough to keep your site safe? Are you struggling to get all your stakeholders onto the same page? Or are you ready to bring your traffic management plan to life, but are just not sure how?

Here at Vanguard, we understand the challenge of balancing both safety and productivity.

Over the last thirty years, we’ve helped thousands of businesses — like yours — transform their workplaces into both safe and productive operations. To do this, we take you through our unique 5-Step Safety Design Process.

To find out more, watch the video above or read on for a full breakdown of what you can expect to happen at each stage of the process.

Step 1 – Assess

Before anything, we take the time to understand where you’re at in your journey. If we identify that not ready for a full safety design, we’ll advise you on the next steps to take in order to prepare for this.

Once you’re ready for a full safety design, we arrange a one-hour site assessment where one of our consultants visits your site to meet your team and understand your situation.

At this point, it’s really important to have all your stakeholders on board: health and safety, management, operations, forklift operators, and anyone else that may be affected by your safety project.

We’ll also take a bunch of photos which we then use to draft up our initial concept design.

Step 2 – Align

Once we have prepared our initial concept design, one if our consultants will arrange an online meeting with your key stakeholders.

During this meeting, we present visual concepts of the proposed solution along with high level estimates so you can be clear about cost.

Alignment is reached when:

  1. You have internal buy-in between operations, finance, and safety;
  2. Our estimates align with your budgets, and;
  3. You’re comfortable that the proposed solutions will give you the right safety outcomes.

We find reaching alignment at this stage is critical to a successful project. It’s important to note that, at this stage, the ball remains firmly in your hands until you are ready to move forward with the project.

Step 3 – Design

Once alignment has been reached and the initial concept designs have been approved, our design team will get to work on creating 3D renders of your safety solutions. This allows you to see exactly how the designs will look when they come to life on your site.

We understand that there could still be some changes at this stage, so we’ll work closely with you to ensure that this design delivers maximum safety, efficiency, and return on your investment.

At the conclusion of this stage, we’ll also prepare you a detailed proposal so that you have everything you need to present back to your stakeholders for final sign-off.

Step 4 – Implement

Once your project is approved, that’s when the rubber hits hits the road; we take your project from design and transform it into reality.

The operations team here at Vanguard will make sure we have everything you need picked, packed, and delivered to your door so your project starts on time.

Meanwhile, our Project Manager will work with you and your team to ensure that the installation goes as smoothly as possible, and your operation does not stand still.

Our team takes care of all the health and safety documents required for your project, and we are pleased to note that we are also SiteSafe accredited.

Our installation contractors work on behalf of Vanguard, so you are working with Vanguard all the way.

When your installation project is completed, our Project Manager will do a full walk-through with you — where possible — to ensure that the project has gone the way you intended it to.

Step 5 – Evaluate

But that’s not the end of the story.

Here at Vanguard, we’re all about effective outcomes. We’ll continue to check-in with you to ensure that your site is working safely and efficiently, long after the project has signed off. This is because our promise to you is 100% lifetime satisfaction. Whether it’s our advice, products, or services, we stand behind everything we do.
