Built for High-Impact Protection
The Slow Stop Bollard range is designed to protect critical assets in high-impact environments. Engineered in the USA, these bollards are built to handle serious force — making them well-suited for areas with regular vehicle interaction, including forklifts and heavy trucks.
What Makes It Different
At first glance, these may look like standard surface-mounted bollards — but the key difference is what’s happening underneath.
Each bollard features a four-part system, including an internal elastomer buffer pad. This sits at the base and absorbs impact energy when the bollard is hit, reducing stress on the fixings and helping prevent damage to the surrounding concrete.
How the System Works
The system is made up of:
- An elastomer buffer pad that absorbs impact
- A steel collar and surface-mounted flange that hold the structure in place
- A steel bollard post secured with grub screws
- Anchor bolts that compress the system securely to the ground
When impacted, the bollard flexes and transfers force into the elastomer pad — rather than the bolts — helping maintain the integrity of both the bollard and the concrete surface.
Range and Performance
The range includes multiple sizes (101mm, 141mm, and 168mm diameters), with impact ratings from 3 tonne through to 35 tonne.
The largest 168mm option is designed for the highest-demand environments, offering protection against heavy vehicles while maintaining long-term durability.
Practical Installation
All bollards in the range are surface-mounted, meaning they can be installed directly onto existing concrete — no excavation required.
This makes installation faster and more flexible compared to traditional in-ground bollards. (Note: these must be installed into concrete surfaces and are not suitable for asphalt.)
Finishes and Options
Standard finish is a high-visibility yellow powder coat over galvanised steel, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Custom colour options are also available for projects requiring alignment with site or brand specifications.
