Challenge
Our client, Porirua City Council, needed to see how traffic would flow around a newly constructed roundabout at Kenepuru/Raiha intersection. This trial was designed to be carried out over 6 – 12months, in order to show where the carriageway will need to be modified before installing permanent kerb and channel.
Solution
PCC chose the temporary Rubber Traffic Separator system to see how traffic would flow on the newly constructed roundabout before going permanent.
Installation was carried out in Porirua at the busy Raiha St intersection which has a lot of traffic movement daily and works needed to be completed at night, so there was no interference during peak traffic from 6am – 6pm.
Result
Since installation, Porirua City Council has received a lot of great feedback from the community with traffic now flowing smoother in all directions.
