FAQs.
Can I use these wheel stops for heavy vehicles (such as trucks and buses) should I be using adhesive when installing these? (question applies to all wheelstops)
We would recommend either our standard 1650mm rubber wheelstops or our 900mm rubber wheelstops, with one for each wheel. The reason behind this is these have 3 fasteners per stop, and you can place the middle fastener hole right in front of the wheel, making it a much stronger solution. Alternatively, traffic separator in a straight line, if all the car parks are straight.
Using adhesive is not mandatory in most situations. You can use this for extra longevity in both concrete and asphalt surfaces if you wish.
When surfaces cannot be pierced by a physical fastener, you can use adhesive on its own when properly applied (see application guide). The benefit of our Bondurox adhesive is the elasticity once it is set which leads to a longer life, i.e. when the wheelstop is impacted, it won't snap the wheelstop off the ground.
Can I install these onto pavers?
If the pavers are thick then a M12x150 concrete screw should work – they need to check that it doesn’t crack.
If the paver looks like it will crack then drill the hole out to 16mm clearance hole and drive a spike through and into the base course below.
Glue added to further assist.
