With that in mind, we have put together 4 top tips for workplace safety around hazardous goods. There are many potential gains to be made in productivity through having the detailed inventories, and storing products appropriately and close to work areas, as well as protection from liability.
1. Keep an up-to-date inventory of goods
Keeping an up-to-date inventory of goods covered by the regulations must be kept, and must be available to emergency services.
2. Have an emergency plan
Every workplace needs a detailed emergency plan, and all staff must be briefed on it
3. Eliminate unnecessary products
It’s recommended that unnecessary products be eliminated, and stock minimised, where possible.
4. Isolate Hazards
Hazards should be isolated, and personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied and available.
