Protect your valuable assets with safety bollards from Vanguard.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, ensuring the safety of your premises, valuable assets and staff has become paramount. Bollards are a cost-efficient and effective way to protect these valuable assets, but with so many options, it can be hard to determine what will suit you best.

In this article we outline our three most popular asset protection bollards, and how they could suit you best.

Inground steel ram-raid bollards
Top benefit: ultimate protection

Concreted into the ground, indoors or out, these bollards can be filled with concrete for additional strength. As our most durable option, they offer unparalleled protection and are ideal for higher-risk applications, like where larger or multiple vehicles are operating.

Because they’re cemented into a surface, these bollards must be installed during construction or concrete work. They’re concreted +/- 500mm into the ground, with a finished above-ground height of around 1100mm, 1200mm or 1500mm depending on the bollard size.

Specifics

Available in either plain galvanised, or galvanised with a yellow powder coat finish and in three size options – 115mm, 165mm and 220mm diameter.

Install information

Civil work, such as drilling and cutting concrete, is needed to install these bollards, and you must have service location and council permission if placed on public property.

Removable steel bollards
Top benefit: convenience

Unlockable and removable for operational access, these bollards offer protection in areas where you still need to give some vehicles access. They can be used indoors or out and are the perfect solution to changing security requirements, such as in front of warehouse roller doors.
A steel base is concreted 350mm into the ground. The bollard fits into the base and padlocks into place with a finished above-ground height of 950mm There’s the option to padlock the over-flap, which covers the sleeve when the bollard is removed.

Specifics

Available in either plain galvanised, or galvanised with a yellow powder coat finish in 115mm diameter size. Padlock sold separately.

Install information

Civil work, such as drilling and cutting concrete, is needed to install these bollards, and you must have service location and council permission if placed on public property.

Energy-absorbing surface-mounted bollards
Top benefit: handling hits without damage to concrete

With energy-absorbing properties, these bollards can stop three tonnes at 4.8km/h (based on the 101 diameter option) without damage. Higher ratings are available with our larger bollards. They can be fixed to a concrete surface, offering exceptional protection when you can’t excavate for an inground option.
If the bollard is hit, energy from the impact is absorbed by an elastomer in the base. The energy is slowly released, and the bollard bounces back into shape, perfect in medium industrial environments to protect pallet racking, equipment, vehicles and pedestrians against low-speed vehicles.

Specifics

Available in 101mm, 141mm and 168mm diameters.

Install information

They can be bolted directly to a concrete surface.
